Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving my parents and brothers, and Kyle's brother, Kelly, came down to spend the holiday with us. Here Brayden is enjoying some time with his Uncle Andy. 

 Brayden was at the table and ready to eat before all of the food had finished cooking. (He's pointing to the candle because he's letting me know that I need to re-light it.) ;)

 The kids relaxing with Uncle Jordan after our big Thanksgiving dinner. Yes, my son is just in his underwear, but lately getting him to keep pants on when we are at home has proven difficult.

 Saturday evening we went downtown in Parker to a frozen yogurt shop. Outside the shop they were doing free carriage rides throughout downtown and Main street, so the kids had fun petting the horse and riding in the carriage. Caitlyn got to help drive. :)

I had to snap this picture because I couldn't get over the amount of chocolate on my son's face. If you couldn't tell he was eating a donut with chocolate frosting for breakfast. 

We just the got kids new carseats and last night Brayden just wanted to sit in his even though we weren't going anywhere. I didn't mind because it kept him in one place for more than 5 mins.

Caitlyn's Preschool Thanksgiving Program

 Today Caitlyn performed a couple songs and recited a Bible verse with her preschool class for their Thanksgiving program. I have a video clip of her and her class singing, but I haven't figured out how to upload it yet.

 After the performance, the kids and parents enjoyed a "Thanksgiving feast". 

 This week we went to Castle Rock to see the giant Christmas tree that is already lit up. The kids loved dancing near the huge tree.

 Tonight we were able to celebrate Uncle Kelly's birthday. The kids make sure we never miss an opportunity to eat cake and ice cream! ;)

A Little Announcement...

A couple months ago, Kyle and I found out that we were expecting our third child. We were excited about this because for both Caitlyn & Brayden I had had to go on fertility drugs to get pregnant, and for this pregnancy we did not. We always thought that we wanted 3 kids, but little did we know that God had a different plan. At my first appointment we found out we were expecting twins!! We were in shock for quite a few days, but especially because we were told they babies were in one sac which meant the pregnancy would be a very high risk pregnancy.

Thankfully today though we met with our perinatologist (High-risk OB/GYN) and he was able to determine that the babies are in two sacs. We were so thankful that he was determine that there are two sacs, but because they are sharing one placenta it is still considered a high risk pregnancy. Because the babies are sharing a placenta, they have the risk of "Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome" in addition to typical twin risks. If this syndrome occurs one baby might not be able to get enough nutrition from the placenta and will start to not grow and develop at the same rate as the other baby. The perinatologist told us that if this occurs they will send us to a specialist in San Francisco, but we are, of course, praying that this does not occur. We would appreciate any prayers over the next few months, and that I'm able to carry the twins as long as possible.

Even though having four kids was not Kyle and my plan, we feel very blessed that God has given us twins. My next appointment will be in one month, where we hopefully find out if they will be boys or girls. We know that they will be identical because they are sharing one placenta. I will put all updates on our blog because we hope that will be the easiest way to keep everyone updated! I've posted a few pics from the ultrasound today. They are both measuring around 12 weeks which is accurate according to my due date.  :)

 We took the kids downtown to the Trick or Treat Street that the city of Parker puts on each year. The kids were excited to see the various Disney characters wandering around downtown. Brayden ran across the street to say hi to Elmo.

 Before we could catch him, Brayden ran through several kids to the front of the line to see Spiderman & Batman.
