Fall Fun

This past week Caitlyn went with her preschool class on a field trip to the local pumpkin patch. It was quite amusing how the boys sat together and the girls sandwiched together when they were asked to pose for a class picture. ;)
Brayden and I went with Caitlyn and her class, so here Brayden is checking out a goat in the petting zoo area.
 Caitlyn loved the bunnies
Quite pleased with the pumpkins they picked out!
We've been trying to take advantage of the warmer fall days in between the cold ones by going to the park.

Which pumpkin to choose?
This weekend we went to the Pumpkin Farm we enjoyed going to last year, but unfortunately the fields were so muddy from the snowstorm earlier this week that the kids just had to choose a pumpkin from the pre-picked area. They didn't seem to mind though...
Forget picking a pumpkin it looks like much more fun to climb them
Quite happy with themselves after they "conquered" the stacked hay bales
This Saturday Caitlyn had her friend Makenna come to our house for a sleepover. Here are the kids before church Sunday morning.

The First Snowstorm of the Season

Two weeks ago we had our first snowfall. It was a very wet, light snow but the kids didn't care; they insisted on going out to play in it. So in their pajama and winter coats, Kyle took them out to make a few snowballs.
 Being silly, like usual
 Trying to make a snowball...

 Aiming for his sister
Last weekend the kids went to Nebraska with their Uncles Jordan & Paul and visited their Great Aunt & Uncles and Great Grandma. They stayed busy on the farm and spending time with my Grandma. Here they are having fun swinging (with help from their Uncle Paul) on the swing set in my Grandma's front yard.
Caitlyn being a sweet big sister
Being a typical boy...He just has to try something besides just swinging
Feeding the neighbor's dog....(Yes, they love dogs, but, no, we are not adding any pets to our family anytime soon). :) ....More pics from Nebraska coming soon!

Hiking in the Mountains

Last weekend we decided to take the kids up to the mountains for a hike. It was definitely a very "leisurely" hike at the pace the kids kept, but we enjoyed getting out of the city and enjoying the beautiful fall day.
Marching right along with his Dad
The beautiful Aspen trees that lined the trail
Brayden kept running ahead of us on the trail with his arms straight out in front of him yelling, "Superhero". I think all the open space made him quite happy! ;)
I wanted a quick picture of the kids and Brayden kept hiding behind his sister.

Brayden's expression in this picture makes me laugh.
 Checking out their surroundings
Taking a quick snack break before heading back down the trail

Walking down back to our car with a little less energy...I think we actually wore him out!
Someone does love his sister....:)
