Spring Fun

I want to keep updating the blog, but sadly I think I'm going to always be a month behind. :( This slideshow is of pictures from Brayden's preschool program, Caitlyn's meet in Steamboat Springs and our trip to the zoo at the end of the school year.

Drew & Evan's 2nd Birthday

I'm about 3 weeks behind at posting pictures, but I thought you would still want to see pictures from the twins' birthday. The majority of the pictures are from their birthday celebration, and the rest are just random everyday moments.

Easter

We were really disappointed that we didn't get to go visit our families in Gillette over Easter weekend, but we tried to make sure the kids still had a fun weekend. I will be posting pictures from the twins' birthday and Caitlyn's second gymnastics meet soon!

Caitlyn's 1st Gymnastics Competition

On Wednesday this week Caitlyn finally got her competition leotard and warm-up set. She was so excited to wear it that she wore it all morning over her school uniform before she left for school (Drew rarely misses an opportunity to be photographed).
I took of picture of Drew, Caitlyn and Brayden, and when I looked at the shot, Caitlyn and Brayden weren't looking at the camera but Drew had this expression that gave me a good laugh!

Evan thinking he's pretty cool.
Caitlyn had her first gymnastics meet in Monument this weekend and did really well. There were 5 teams and about 80 girls, and even though she admitted she was nervous, she seemed to have fun once the competition started. Here she is practicing on the beam before the event started.
Can you tell she's a little excited!?

Our Beautiful Gymnast
Waiting with her team--for this being most of the girls' first meet, they seemed pretty relaxed. (Caitlyn is on the left end)

She made sure I took a picture of her from pretty much every angle so that everyone could see her full uniform.
Practicing her dismount from the beam
Caitlyn ended up getting a medal in 4 events, but I honestly don't know what she placed in each event. It was hard to hear the announcer and they were running through the awards so quickly, so I will have to find out from her coach this week what Caitlyn's final scores were. We were so proud of her though!
I know she placed 5th in this event, but I don't know what the event was...

Caitlyn's team placed 3rd overall which we were surprised by because they were one of the younger teams. The girls were all very excited as you can tell and were all wanting to hold the trophy. Caitlyn is hidden behind one of her teammates.
1st Meet Accomplished!

Last week we had some of our friends over, and the kids decided to each make snowmans with the little snow we had left in our front yard.
From this picture you would think that Drew had just fallen, but he had actually thrown himself on the ground because he was upset about something. His sweet brother wanted to make sure he was ok though, and comforted his brother during his pity party.

Caitlyn had her friend Makenna come and stay last weekend and the girls had fun catching up since they don't get to see each other very often.

Evan decided to do his hair yesterday and I think he used a little too much water! ;)

January/February

One morning before school Drew decided to borrow his brother's backpack and his sister's water bottle. I guess he's just practicing for when he gets to go to school.
We went to the Nike outlet store because Brayden needed new shoes, but we ended up getting each of the twins a pair also. We had a battle to get the new shoes off of them for their baths, and they would have slept in their shoes that night if we would have let them.

Drew ready to race.
Evan seeing how fast he can run in his shoes.

 Drew just relaxing before church

The kids watching a show on Kyle's Kindle before bed one evening.

Brayden is obsessed with long socks for some reason, so he was so excited to get several pairs in the Valentine's package the kids received last week.
Evan excited by Caitlyn's Valentine's socks (and, yes, he did try them on for her.) ;)
New Hotwheels cars
 Enjoying their orange creme suckers

Quite excited to get a new Fancy Nancy book for part of her Valentine's gift.

Decorating Valentine's sugar cookies to give to their teachers.
Drew & Evan got new basketballs for Valentine's Day from Kyle and I which will hopefully decrease some of the fighting between the brothers.

Brayden helping Drew put on his soccer socks and shin guards.

Socks that go up to Brayden's knee, cover almost all of Drew's leg. ;)
Two sweet brothers eating their morning snack and watching a show together.

Drew trying on my sunglasses
I caught Drew helping me with my dusting in the living room.

The boys have found that the area rug makes a fun hiding spot.

This twin tornado happened in less than 10 minutes...this happens several times a day. (They just want to make sure their mom doesn't get bored!)

Brayden got his haircut and asked the stylist to do his hair in a mohawk. He thought he looked pretty cool.
Caitlyn looking pretty one morning before school.
A couple weeks ago I took Caitlyn to the American Girl store at Park Meadows where she got to take her doll to the salon there. She put colorful extensions in her doll's hair and learned new hairstyles for her doll.
I don't think she minds being the only girl sometimes... :)
