They're Home!

Yesterday the twins started taking all of their feedings by bottle, so the doctor ordered their NG tubes to be removed. They continued to feed well through the night, so the neonatologist said they could go home today! The only thing they failed was their "Room Air Challenge Test". Basically they took the boys off of their oxygen for a 30 minute period to see if they could maintain an adequate pulse ox level (the measure of oxygen saturation in the blood) in the situation where they would pull their oxygen tubing out of their nose when they are sleeping at night or when we aren't right there to notice. Both of the boys' levels dipped down in the 60s at times (the doctor would like to see the level above 90), so the twins have to stay on oxygen and be monitored by a pulse oximeter. The tubing and cords definitely make things more complicated, but we are just so thankful that God has answered our prayers and we were able to bring the boys home. Thank you again to our friends and family for your prayers and encouragement!

So glad to have their brothers home :)
